Field Day!

Today was a field day unlike any that I ever attended in elementary or middle school. First of all, if you weren't getting completely soaking wet you were doing something wrong. Second, there was rap music being pumped through loud speakers the whole time and one of the stations was for dancing and getting fake tattoos.

Despite these differences (because of these differences?), it was amazingly fun! Our first station was a game called duck, duck sponge. In this game the person who is "It" ducks, ducks, ducks, ducks and instead of goosing, they squeeze a soaking sponge onto the person. So awesome. The second was a water slide that I couldn't resist. Then water races, then tattoos, then jumping things and finally, the playground. The kids had such a blast and I am so proud of their behavior.

One of the highlights for me was that the class of young kids with autism came with our class and not only was it really fun to see them playing but it was amazing to see my kids playing with the kids in that class. We briefly talked about it before hand and my class just included them so appropriately, helped out, and were just so gracious and wonderful. I am so glad that they came with us and that my class got to be a part of their field day. During duck, duck, sponge, my kids would put the sponge on their heads when they passed so they could get wet without having to run around, they helped them out on the water slide. It was so wonderful. What a great day.

That's the news. Goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Love,
Miss Bee
