So this will be my blog. I am going to post about teaching, what I did at school each day, what I want to try in the future. The great thing is you can post comments to either laugh at me or tell me I am great. Those are the two options...
To get started, I didn't go to school today. There isn't a lot for me to do until I have more information. I do plan on going tomorrow to make some giant stars to hang up. I want them to say encouraging things like "always do your best," "be truthful," "no put-downs," etc. I also want them to have glitter. I also want to make a torn paper world to put on the door and make letters to say "be the change you hope to see in the world." I also plan on having a "people at our school" bulletin board with pictures of the janitorial staff, secretaries, principal. Do you think these people will object to having their pictures taken?
For my other board I am either going to do Let's Have a Sunny Year where the kids will all make a sunshine to put up. Or I want to do puzzle pieces and have each kid decorate one to put up. The problem is, I can't start that one until I know how many kids are going to be in my class. If I have room, I want to do a small bulletin board about the kids interests. So i would section it off into little categories like loves pizza, future writers, book worms, math whiz and then the kids write their names in the squares that describe them. On top of all this I have to make the math meeting board. So tomorrow should be a fun day of art projects.
I am going to rearrange my classroom when I find a strong person to help me...
In other news, my neighbors are DOORSLAMMERS!

Hey Miss Bee....this is not Karen but John...I could not get my gmail to work so am using moms. Nice blog, you need some pictures....of you and friends, family, etc. I like it though. I look forward to reading it regularly. Love you.....sorry about the doorslammers!!!!!!!!
Doorslammers huh? Thats no fun. I think you should have one of you boards be more about their interests like sports and stuff... that why its not just all about school and it something more "fun" if you will. But what do i really know about this kind of stuff. haha. Im excited you started this. You should also have a board about me. With big pictures and whatnot. What do you think?? haha.

I could actually do a board about family members and have the kids bring in pictures of their siblings. I will think about it. Thanks Nat.
